Versailles
Versailles is a leafy, posh suburb and home to the grandest and most famous château in France. It served as the Royal Court from 1682
to 1789 (when Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were dragged from there in the revolution). Expect queues, as you would for such
a magnificent attraction. The scale of grandeur is gob smacking.
Disneyland Paris
At first a white elephant, persistence has paid off for the Disney Corporation and this is now one of the world's great
theme parks.
Parc Asterix
Also with lots of rides and themes, this is the local version of Disneyland.
Fontainebleau
The town of Fontainebleau (65km south of Paris) is home to the 1900 room Renaissance built Château de
Fontainebleu. While the château itself is absolutely stunning, the area itself is rewarding and it may be
worth considering a night away. Trains run every hour or so between Gare de Lyon and Fontainebleau.
