Balloons over Britain
In 1991, six of the UK's largest and longest-established balloon flight operators created the nationwide flight
network, "Balloons Over Britain"
As the popularity of balloon flights has grown, so too has their network. With 12 member companies who cover most
of the flyable areas of the country from London to the Lake District, from Scotland to the South West of England,
& Wales to the Wash, they provide the only comprehensive national balloon flight network throughout the UK.
Most members have been operating passenger balloon rides for over ten years, some for twice as long, giving them
an unparalleled wealth of operational experience that is shared across their network to ensure the highest
operating standards.

the Thames Path. - Advantages of Canal/River walks are that the towpaths are flat and there are plenty of
waterside pubs for refreshments.
The long distance footpaths and challenge walks are much more strenuous and involve steep hills, different
terrain, and usually longer mileages. Examples are Wainwright's Coast-to-Coast, the South Downs Way, Offa's
Dyke, South West Coastal Footpath, Dales Way and the Cotswold Way.
Byways Breaks - Cycling and Walking Holidays
Byways Breaks arrange gentle "go at your own pace" cycling and walking holidays in the Shropshire and Cheshire countryside. This area of the UK is ideal for cycling and easy walking: not too flat to be boring, with the occasional hill and slope to give variety and views. The countryside is gentle with winding lanes, miles or waterways, quiet villages, a rich history, and numerous family-friendly pubs with good food and beer.
If this sounds a little too gentle and you want a few more hills, try one of their "Peaks Breaks" trips around the area of Macclesfield Forest. Offering a variety of Short Breaks, Weekend Breaks and longer holidays, you can choose either cycling or walking - or a combination of the two. They also offer a range of self-catering cottages in quiet countryside and small villages. Throughout their holiday selection, the emphasis is touring scenic and quiet countryside at a relaxed pace, and suitable for all ages from 8 to 80!
